Kennedy Library releases Jackie's personal papers — including her efforts to restore White House's state rooms and the script edits to her televised tour of the First Family’s home,
which aired on Feb. 14, 1962.
"All these people come to see the White House and they see practically nothing that dates back before 1948," Mrs. Kennedy told Life magazine. "Everything in the White House must have a reason for being there. It would be sacrilege merely to ‘redecorate’ it – a word I hate. It must be restored – and that has nothing to do with decoration. That is a question of scholarship."
