'Total Badass' heads to Texas Theatre on Thursday

CHAD HOLT: Austin's fiercest badass.
My buddy Chad Holt — editor of Austin's Whoopsy! magazine — is the subject of "Total Badass," a new documentary that follows Chad through his day-to-day life as a lovable smartass troublemaker.
I've yet to see the film — which has been touring the nation on filmmaker Bob Ray's "Down & Dirty" tour — but my friends who have say the vérité footage truthfully captures Holt in all his polarizing glory.
After recently receiving a pretty glowing review in The New York Times, "Badass" is heading to the Texas Theater.
On Thursday, Ray and Holt attend a Dallas screening at Oak Cliff's famed Texas Theatre, 231 West Jefferson Blvd. Dec. 16 at 9:30 p.m. (Ray's documentary about the Austin roller derby craze, "Hell on Wheels," screens 7 p.m.) Tickets $8. 214-948-1546.

BREAK OFF A COUPLE OF PIECES:
To witness more about Holt, he's also the blackface rapper Sweet Tooth, who's not afraid to drop N bombs.

And here's a "Total Badass" excerpt.
